These Rider Terms apply to individuals approved to use the RYDO Platform as riders. RYDO DIGITAL SOLUTIONS LTD operates a technology platform that facilitates connections between customers and riders. These Terms should be read together with the RYDO Privacy Policy and other applicable policies.
These Rider Terms & Conditions ("Rider Terms") apply to individuals approved to use the RYDO Platform as riders. RYDO DIGITAL SOLUTIONS LTD operates a technology platform that facilitates connections between customers and riders. These Rider Terms should be read together with the RYDO Privacy Policy, Rider Privacy/Data Protection Notice, Platform Terms and other applicable policies.
A person seeking to use RYDO as a rider must satisfy applicable requirements, which may include:
Approval is not guaranteed.
RYDO may verify rider identity using authorised verification providers. Riders must provide truthful and accurate information. A rider must not register using another person's identity, use another rider's account, submit fraudulent documents, allow another person to operate through the rider's account, or circumvent RYDO verification procedures.
The motorcycle used for RYDO services must be legally registered where required, mechanically roadworthy, meet applicable safety requirements, have legally required documentation, be maintained in safe operating condition, and meet any applicable RYDO requirements. RYDO may request evidence of compliance.
Riders must comply with applicable traffic and road-safety laws. Riders should wear an approved safety helmet, use appropriate protective equipment, avoid dangerous riding, obey speed restrictions, avoid riding under the influence of alcohol or drugs, avoid distracted riding, avoid carrying unsafe loads, and prioritise safety over delivery speed.
The rider is responsible for protecting their account. A rider must not share passwords, OTPs, login credentials, security codes, or account access. RYDO may suspend an account where account-sharing or identity fraud is suspected.
A rider may receive delivery requests through the Platform. Acceptance of a request may create an obligation to complete the delivery unless there is a legitimate safety concern, the package violates Platform rules, the customer provides materially incorrect information, the delivery becomes unlawful or unsafe, an emergency occurs, or another legitimate reason applies.
Riders must exercise reasonable care when handling packages. Riders must not open packages without lawful justification, remove or substitute package contents, deliberately damage packages, use packages for personal purposes, or deliver packages to an unauthorised person.
A rider must not knowingly transport prohibited or unlawful items through RYDO. If a rider reasonably suspects that a package is dangerous or unlawful, the rider should not proceed in a manner that creates unnecessary risk and should contact RYDO support where appropriate.
Riders must arrive at the designated pickup location where reasonably possible, confirm the relevant delivery, follow reasonable delivery instructions, protect package integrity, confirm delivery using the applicable verification method, and update delivery status accurately.
Where RYDO uses a four-digit OTC: the rider must request the code only at the appropriate delivery stage; the rider must not falsely mark a delivery as completed; the rider must not obtain or use a customer's code fraudulently; and the rider must not ask a customer to provide a code before the package is properly delivered.
Riders must treat customers professionally. Riders must not harass customers, threaten customers, make discriminatory remarks, unlawfully solicit customers, misuse customer contact information, use customer information outside the legitimate delivery purpose, or engage in inappropriate conduct.
RYDO may process rider location during relevant Platform activities. Location information may be used for rider matching, delivery tracking, navigation, safety, fraud prevention, customer visibility, dispute resolution, and service improvement.
RYDO may maintain a rider-performance system. Where applicable, rider performance may consider factors such as customer ratings, acceptance, completion, delivery performance, safety-related indicators, complaints, fraud indicators, and other disclosed operational criteria. Where automated processing materially affects a rider's rights or interests, applicable data-protection rights and safeguards will apply.
Customers may rate rider services. RYDO may investigate ratings or complaints where there are reasonable grounds to believe they are fraudulent, abusive, or inaccurate.
Riders may receive earnings or applicable service payments according to the applicable RYDO commercial arrangement. Payment calculations may depend on completed deliveries, applicable rates, approved adjustments, cancellation rules, platform fees or commissions where applicable, and other disclosed commercial terms.
Riders are responsible for complying with applicable personal tax, licensing, registration and other legal obligations applicable to their activities. Where RYDO is legally required to make deductions, reporting or submissions, it may do so.
Where RYDO provides or facilitates insurance coverage, the applicable policy determines who is covered, what events are covered, coverage limits, exclusions, claims procedures, documentation requirements, and applicable conditions. Riders must provide accurate information for insurance purposes.
A rider involved in an accident or serious incident during an active RYDO delivery should: prioritise immediate safety; seek emergency assistance where necessary; notify appropriate authorities where required; notify RYDO as soon as reasonably practicable; and preserve relevant information and documentation. False incident reports may constitute a breach of these Terms.
Riders may receive customer information such as names, phone numbers, addresses, delivery instructions, and location information. This information may only be used for legitimate RYDO service purposes. Riders must not save customer information unnecessarily, sell or share customer information, contact customers for unrelated purposes, use customer information for personal solicitation, or post customer information online.
Riders must not engage in fake deliveries, fake customer accounts, GPS manipulation, account sharing, payment manipulation, delivery-status manipulation, false completion, customer collusion, wallet manipulation, or other fraudulent conduct.
RYDO may suspend a rider while investigating safety complaints, identity concerns, fraud, customer complaints, document irregularities, serious service failures, security incidents, or other material breaches. Where appropriate, RYDO may provide the rider an opportunity to respond.
RYDO may terminate rider access for serious or repeated breaches of these Terms or applicable law. Termination does not remove obligations relating to confidentiality, outstanding payments, data protection, fraud investigation or other provisions intended to survive termination.
The precise legal relationship between RYDO and each rider will depend on the rider onboarding agreement and applicable law. Nothing in these Terms should be interpreted as creating an employment relationship where the applicable agreement and law do not establish one.
Riders receive a limited right to use RYDO technology solely for authorised Platform activities. The RYDO software, logo, trademarks, systems and technology remain protected by applicable intellectual-property rights.
Rider personal information is processed in accordance with the RYDO Privacy Policy and Rider Data Protection Notice. RYDO will apply appropriate technical and organisational safeguards to personal information consistent with applicable data-protection requirements.
These Rider Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
